From her castle in Réveillon, Madeleine Lemaire is bringing back her paintings from the London exhibition

Letter from Madeleine Lemaire written on letterhead from her Château de Réveillon: "Réveillon near Courgivaux (Marne)". It was in this place that she received Marcel Proust, who wrote his first novel, Les Plaisirs et les jours, there ; she herself inspired Proust for the character of Madame Verdurin.

In this letter, she requests that two paintings returned from her London exhibition be brought to her. "Please have the two paintings you have of mine, returned from the London exhibition, delivered to my home in Paris, 31 rue de Monceau. If it is inconvenient for you to run an errand for this, please keep them until my return at the end of November; I will have them collected from you at that time.".
